All About NIHB Program

The NIHB Program covers certain dental care and other health-related benefits for eligible First Nation and Inuit clients that are not covered by provincial-territorial, or other third-party insurance plans. It will help you get and provide all types of care, from routine check-ups to more specialized treatments.

The NIHB Program is offered to all the First Nations and Inuit who are enrolled with the Indigenous Service Canada. But if you are in doubt as to whether you fall in any of the categories above just call us and we shall advise you whether you qualify or not.

The NIHB Program covers a wide range of dental services, including check-ups, cleanings, fillings, extractions, and more. The specific services covered depend on your individual needs, so it’s a good idea to check with us or your provider to confirm.

When you schedule your appointment, just let us know you’re eligible for the NIHB Program, and we’ll take care of the rest. We’ll help with any paperwork and make sure your billing is handled smoothly.

While most services under the NIHB Program are covered, some treatments might require a small co-payment. Be sure to check with us beforehand, and we’ll let you know if there are any out-of-pocket costs.

If your claim is denied, don’t worry. You can request a review of the decision. We’re here to help you through the appeals process and assist in resubmitting the claim if needed.

Routine dental exams are generally covered every six months, but the frequency of covered services may depend on your individual needs. Feel free to confirm with us during your visit.

Yes, orthodontic treatments may be covered if they are deemed medically necessary. Speak with your dentist to find out if you’re eligible and to get the appropriate documentation.

You can stay on top of your benefits by either contacting the NIHB Program directly or discussing your coverage with us during your visit. We’ll help you understand what’s covered and any limits that apply.

For more details about the NIHB Program, visit the Indigenous Services Canada website or feel free to contact their office directly. We’re also here to answer any questions you may have.
